After breakfast, you will head to Tiananmen Square and visit solemn Monument to the People's Heroes. Continue to the Forbidden City (the Palace Museum) and explore this imperial palaces of Ming and Qing dynasties in China. After visiting, head to Siji Mingfu Roasted Duck Restaurant to taste the unique Beijing food, Beijing roast duck.
In the afternoon, travel to Jingshan Park and climb up Jingshan Mountain for a breathtaking panoramic vista of the Forbidden City and old Beijing city. In the afternoon, venture to the Summer Palace, an attractive imperial garden of Qing dynasty. Lhasa is at an elevation of 3,650 meters (12,000 feet) which may give you altitude sickness. To alleviate or avoid symptoms of altitude sickness, it is recommended that you pay attention to the following points on the first day of arrival in Lhasa:

Today, your first stop is Norbulingka, Dalai Lama's summer residence.
